Victron
Smart Solar Maximum
Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Charge Controller
These controllers are suitable for a variety of battery voltages. It can connect via Bluetooth or a USB interface.
Victron
Easy Solar products
It combines a MPPT Solar Charge Controller, an inverter/charger and AC distribution in one enclosure. It is easy to install with a minimum of wiring.
Victron
Quattro combined
inverter
and charger
It can be connected to two independent AC sources and will automatically pick up the active source. Up to six Quattros can operate in parallel to achieve higher power output, enabling three phase operation.
Victron
Phoenix Inverter
It has compact dimensions, is light in weight and supplies power, problem free, to any load.
Victron
MultiPlus
A combined inverter and charger in one elegant package. Its many features include a true sine wave inverter, adaptive charging, hybrid PowerAssist technology, plus multiple system integration features.
All products tested and approved by The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS).
The majority of the products carry a 5-year warranty that can be extended to a 10-year warranty.
SYSTEMS
uTILITY BACKUP SYSTEM
This product offering enables you to still enjoy the use of basic applications during load shedding through a pre-charged battery. It also commonly referred to as a UPS battery, which is short for Uninterrupted Power Supply. It is a plug-and-play mobile unit that can be used in your home or packed in to use offsite/on vacation.
It is charged through grid electricity when the power is on. During an unexpected power outage, it supplies electricity to basic utilities, depending on the battery size. The benefits of this lithium-ion battery solution far outweigh a generator, which is costly, noisy, environmentally unfriendly, and inconvenient to use.
Any utility backup system can be expanded to a hybrid inverter system. This means that solar panels are added that generate solar energy that does not need grid electricity (before or during power outages) to function. A hybrid system can supply power from both grid- and solar electricity.
The more solar panels you add, the smaller your dependency on grid electricity becomes and the cheaper your grid electricity bill will be.
Hybrid Inverter system
This is one of the most common domestic solutions in South Africa. These systems store solar energy generated during the day and enable you to use it during the night when the sun has set instead of grid electricity.
It is linked to two other power sources:
-
Grid electricity
To ensure that there is still power when the panels have not produced sufficient electricity due to overcast/rainy days.
2. Utility Backup System
To ensure that you can still have electricity during load shedding through a pre-charged battery.
grid tie system
The solar panels collect sunlight and converts it into Direct Current (DC) technology. This current is fed into the inverter, which in turn converts it into grid Alternating Current (AC) power.
Power generated from the solar panels are linked to your main power distribution board and serves as another power source, not an alternative one. If a power outage occurs, you still won’t have electricity.
Grid-tie systems are purely installed to reduce your monthly electricity bill.
What does off-the-grid mean?
It is a solar installation that is not connected to grid electricity at all. The solar panels generate all the power and store it in large solar batteries that can supply electricity to the entire home/business. It is the most eco-friendly energy setup and minimises your carbon footprint.
Luceat Solar can assist with you with an Off-the-Grid solution.
